Cultivate Hair Collective

Imagine creating a space that feels like an experience from the moment you open the door.

When Shandrica connected with me, she had the vision, the drive, and a gorgeous space, but she didn’t have the website or the infrastructure to support the experience she wanted to create for her clients.

The problems:

  • How can we make a website that feels like an extension of the luxury the client experiences when they’re in the chair?

  • How do we communicate the level of service that clients can expect by booking with Cultivate?

  • How do we extend that experience beyond a client’s time in the chair?

  • How do we attract more of our ideal clients?

When we started, we had just a generic booking page through Cultivate’s booking management platform, and it wasn’t giving any information on services, showing a portfolio of work, or feeling elevated.

How do we get there? We start with a website that sets the expectation of luxury.

The Website

We wanted the website to create an expectation about the level of service clients can experience at the salon. Shandrica has a solid vision for her space, so we wanted to anchor the website in the aesthetic of the space with warm tones, curves that echoed the arches of the custom made mirrors at the stations, and natural textures.

Pretty doesn’t get you far though if your site isn’t functional. We integrated it with her existing booking software, so clients can book their slot, experience and stylist with the click of a button.

Next, we created a extensions consultation form to help gather crucial info about a client’s hair goals to streamline the in-person consultation process.

The Logo

As a business evolves, we want to evolve, but maintain that brand recognition. One way we did this was by introducing the monogram logo.

By linking the two C’s in Cultivate Hair Collective into a single flowing strand, we can echo the idea of a strand of hair in a really subtle, modern way that feels clean and timeless.

We tied this to the existing branding by keeping the wordmark in the same typefaces, but capitalizing the first line to further anchor it with the monogram, since it loses scale in this orientation.

Print Collateral

Part of maintaining the client experience is making sure all the touch points are consistently on-brand.

Shandrica and I have an ongoing collaborative relationship working on print assets like extension care cards, business cards, referral cards, merch that does beyond logowear, and more.
